On September 2, 2014, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an domestic assault from the Beaufort County Department of Social Services. The assault occurred in June 2014, and was reported to Adult Protective Services by an anonymous person who had knowledge of the abuse. Investigators began an investigation and conducted interviews.
As a result of information and evidence gathered during the investigation, Investigator Christina Dixon applied for and obtained warrants charging Robert Lee Squires, age 40, of Beech Ridge Rd in Belhaven, NC with Assault on a Handicapped Person, Assault Inflicting Serious Injury in Presence of a Minor, Assault on a Child Under 12, and Habitual Misdemeanor Assault. Robert was arrested on September 5th and taken before Magistrate Eric Holmes. He was held at the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $15,000.00 secured bond.
