On October 17th, 2014 at approximately 11:45 p.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault in progress at 2410 West 5th Street in Washington, NC. Deputies responded to the scene and were assisted by members of the Washington Police Department. Once on scene, Deputies encountered a large crowd at the residence due to a party occurring in an outbuilding on the property. Deputies learned that a 21 year old male had been taken from the property to the hospital with a stab wound to the chest. The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation, collected evidence, and conducted interviews. The stabbing victim was later airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC where he is expected to recover.
