On November 15th, 2014, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a dispute involving a firearm on Bay Shores Road in Chocowinity, NC. Upon arrival, Deputies discovered a female victim that reported being struck by a car in the driveway of the property. EMS responded and transported the victim to Beaufort Vidant Hospital.
Deputies began an investigation and conducted interviews. After reviewing evidence, Corporal Cody Burroughs arrested Gina Burroughs Hill, age 53 of Bay Shores Road in Chocowinity, NC and charged her with Assault With a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. Hill was transported to the Magistrate’s Office and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $5,000.00 secured bond. The victim was airlifted to Vidant Hospital in Greenville where she was later released. The victim is expected to recover.
