On April 2, 2015 at approximately 6:43 pm, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report from Vidant Beaufort Hospital stating an adult male was at the Emergency Department seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. Deputies responded to the scene and discovered Montez Donique Langley, age 39, of Washington, NC was being treated for a gunshot wound for which he was later transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation, conducted interviews and collected evidence.
As a result of the investigation, Investigator Jeremy Landeck applied for and obtained a warrant charging Janice Ann Pittman, age 32, of Washington, NC with one count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. Ms. Pittman was arrested and taken before Magistrate Jasper Mills where she was ordered held in the Beaufort County Detention Center without bond. The investigation is continuing at this time.
