On April 27, 2015, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received various reports through various conversations among the student body of a threat of violence directed toward students at Washington High School located on Slatestone Road in Washington. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office takes all threats directed toward the public, businesses and educational facilities seriously.
Beaufort County Sheriff Ernie Coleman has ordered an investigation and immediate intervention into the complaint and his office is working in coordination with Beaufort County Schools to ensure the safety and well-being of the students and faculty of all schools.
Although the investigation is ongoing, interviews and searches have been conducted and at this time the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has not found any credible threat to Washington High School or any other school in Beaufort County.
