On July 28, 2015 at approximately 8:45 a.m, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a fire at an abandoned residence on Edwards Road in Chocowinity. Firefighters with Chocowinity and Blounts Creek Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene. Firefighters requested a Deputy to respond to the scene due to the suspicious nature of the fire. There were no injuries as a result of the fire. This incident is currently under investigation.
