On 05-04-2016, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Tracey Mayo, 46 years of age, of 288 Barnes Drive in Chocowinity. Mayo was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia not used for Marijuana and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.
Her arrest stemmed from the Beaufort County Department of Social Services receiving information that Mayo was giving and allowing her fifteen year old son to use marijuana, prescription pain pills and heroin. The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit and Criminal Investigations Division teamed up with the Department of Social Services and established probable cause for a Search Warrant to search Mayo’s residence.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit executed the search warrant and found marijuana drug paraphernalia, heroin paraphernalia, crack cocaine paraphernalia and prescription pain pill paraphernalia used to inject pain pills into the body using a hypodermic needle.
Mayo was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $6,000.00 secured bond.
