This week Beaufort County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help in finding a suspect defrauding businesses. Anita Chamaine Zachary, age 52, of Stantonsburg, NC has been charged with eight felony warrants. Zachary used counterfeit payroll checks with fraudulent information and cashed them using a false identity. The investigation showed both checks were written out from businesses in Beaufort County as a payroll check. If you believe you have accepted fraudulent checks from Anita Zachary, please contact your local law enforcement agency as we believe she has done this in other eastern North Carolina counties.
