At about 2:00 O’clock on the morning of July 6, 2016 Patrol Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office stopped Marvin Gachuz-Ramirez, 26yrs of age, of Blake Street, Washington NC for operating a motor vehicle on the highway with no tail lights. When Deputies approached his car Gachuz-Ramirez drove away from the traffic stop for a short distance then came to a stop. After approaching his car a second time, Deputies saw drug paraphernalia in plain sight and could smell the odor of marijuana. During their investigation they discovered Gachuz-Ramirez was driving while his driver’s license was revoked.
Deputies then searched the vehicle and located approximately 36 grams of cocaine, digital scales, plastic bags for repackaging cocaine and other items of drug paraphernalia. As a result of the evidence located during their search, Marvin Gachuz-Ramirez was charged with Possession With Intent to Sell or Deliver Cocaine, Trafficking in Cocaine, Felony Maintaining a Vehicle to Facilitate Drug Activity, Driving While his Licenses was Revoked and Failure to Heed Blue Lights and Siren.
Gachuz-Ramirez was taken before a Magistrate and ordered held on a $21,000.00 secured bond.
