On January 8, 2019 at about 3:40 am Beaufort County Deputies responded to the reported Breaking and Entering of a home in the 8600 block of Hwy 32 N, in Washington. Upon arrival the homeowner told Deputies his home had been entered and 2 TVs, an Ipad and a firearm had been stolen. The victim was able to give Deputies a description of a suspect vehicle which was broadcast to all Law Enforcement working in the area.
Minutes later the suspect vehicle was spotted in Belhaven and stopped by the Belhaven Police Department. The Belhaven Officer was able to detain Kentrell Telhrone Washington, age 22 of Washington for further investigation. Three other suspects walked away from the stop. The Officer found 2 TVs and a firearm in the car in plain sight.
Beaufort County Deputies arrived, interviewed Washington, seized the car and charged him with one count each of Breaking & Entering, Larceny After Breaking & Entering, Larceny of a Firearm, Possession of Firearm by a Felon and several drug related charges after Cocaine, Marijuana and Pills were also found in the car.
In the following days Beaufort County Sheriff’s Investigators took over the investigation and after processing physical evidence found in the car and conducting interviews, Investigators arrested the 3 subjects who walked away from the car during the stop. Rumeal De’Vante Peele, age 24 of Pantego, Xavier Jamaar Stanley, age 25 of Belhaven and Antonio Brady-Shavon Smith Jr. age 25 of Pantego were all charged with Felony Breaking & Entering, Larceny After Breaking and Entering, Larceny of a Firearm, and several drug related charges stemming from the drugs found in the car. All three were ordered held on secured bonds ranging from 32,000.00 to $50,000.00. Washington was ordered held on a $60,000.00 bond.
