On 09/10/2021, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested James Speight, 36 years of age, 408 W. 9th Street in Washington. Speight was charged with Trafficking in Cocaine, 2 counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Speight’s arrest stemmed from Investigators purchasing cocaine from Speight and executing a Search Warrant on his residence. Investigators found 48 grams of a mixture of powder cocaine and crack cocaine, marijuana, digital scales and packaging material used to package crack cocaine and powder cocaine.
Speight was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $150,000.00 secured bond.
