Obtaining Property by False Pretense
On 5/30/2023 Jason John Schutt was located and arrested by the Bridgeton Police Department and transferred to Beaufort County deputies with the assistance of the Craven County Sheriff’s Office for warrant service. Schutt was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under 3 bonds totaling $40,000.00 secured. Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Bridgeton PD and Craven County Sheriff’s Office as well as Beaufort County Crime Stoppers for the hard work in getting this wanted person off the street.
Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has received several reports regarding Jason John Schutt, W/M, 49 years of age, of Washington, N.C., approaching individuals asking for money and representing himself as an employee of Tidewater Energy. As a result of the investigation Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division have obtained warrants charging Jason Schutt with (3) three Felony counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretense. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
