On Sunday, November 5th, 2023, at approximately 4:45 a.m. Blounts Creek, Chocowinity and Aurora Fire Departments as well as Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and Beaufort County’s Office of Emergency Services responded to a reported structure fire at 362 Weston Dr. in Blounts Creek, NC.
The first arriving responder reported a single wide mobile home fully consumed by fire. Fire personnel located one deceased occupant in the debris. Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is leading an investigation with assistance from Beaufort County’s Office of Emergency Services, North Carolina’s State Bureau of Investigation and North Carolina’s Office of State Fire Marshall to determine the cause of the fire.
The name of the victim is being withheld until family notifications have been completed. An updated press release will be provided later in the day.
