The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the North Carolina Crime Lab have positively identified the skeletal remains found February 18, 2024 as 55 year old David Batz Aguilar.
Mr. Aguilar was from Guatemala and had traveled to Washington, NC where he had been living with his sister prior to his disappearance.
Mr. Aguilar was identified by DNA profiling. Foul play is not suspected in Mr. Aguilar’s death. Sheriff Scott Hammonds and the staff of Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office express condolences to the family.
