On April 26, 2015, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an assault that occurred at a residence located on Donna Ave, Vanceboro, NC. Deputies responded and made contact with a victim who had been stabbed. The victim was transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville where he was later released. The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation, collected evidence and conducted interviews.
As a result of the investigation, Investigator Jason Hill applied for and obtained warrants charging David Ray Brinkley Jr., age 21, of NC Hwy 33 E. Blounts Creek, NC with one count of Assault With A Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.
Deputies located and arrested Mr. Brinkley and transported to the Beaufort County Magistrate’s Office where he was held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $10,000.00 secured bond set by Magistrate Jasper Mills.
