Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Internship Program
How To Apply
For consideration in our internship program, you will need to type a letter of interest explaining why you would like to complete an internship with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. You will also need to include a resume that contains your demographic information and work/volunteer experience. We will then do a background check that is similar to our ride along applicants and schedule an interview at our office. Once the interview has been completed we will make a recommendation to the Sheriff who will make the final approval on your participation in the program.
If you are approved you will be assigned to work with each division within the Sheriff’s Office to get exposure to the various functions of our agency. Once you have worked with each division, we try to give you the opportunity to select a division that most interests you to complete the remainder of your internship. You will be exposed to the following divisions: Communications, Patrol, Investigations, Detention, and Narcotics. You may also be tasked to help with administrative needs on occasion. Thanks for your interest in our program.
If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact Major Jeremy Hewitt by calling the Sheriff’s Office.
