On 12/24/2017 shortly after 3:00pm the body of 27 year old Timothy Bernard Moore of Belhaven was discovered on a dirt road off of Beach Ridge Road in Belhaven. A passing motorist made the discovery and reported it to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s Investigators responded to the scene and began their investigation. After processing the scene for over 7 hours, Investigators recovered over 30 pieces of physical evidence believed to be associated with the crime. Preliminary findings indicate Moore was shot however an autopsy is being performed to determine the exact cause of death.
Sheriff’s Investigators have worked through the holidays interviewing Moore’s friends, family and anyone who may have come in contact with him in the hours prior to his death.
