The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded this morning to a reported shooting at 116 Mansfield Rd, in the Sherwood Forest Subdivision outside of Washington. Deputies arrived to find the 20 yr old victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported by EMS to Vidant Greenville. His condition is currently unknown. The investigation is currently ongoing.
Upon further investigation, Deputies have learned, the 20 yr old victim heard a noise in east end of his house. When he went to investigate, he was confronted by an intruder holding a gun. The intruder fired one shot striking the victim in the leg. The intruder is described as a thin black male, 6’-1” tall, with short hair wearing a black shirt and black pants. After the shot was fired the suspect fled the residence on foot in an unknown direction.
The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who was in the area of Sherwood Forest, Nottingham Road & Old Bath Highway near Rutledge Mini Storage around 10:45 am yesterday who may have seen something to contact the Criminal
